Would you Pray?

I could really use your prayers for a situation that I am helping with.

I heard about an abandoned baby and immediately connected the people caring for the baby with my dear friends who are desperate for a child.  My friends would love to adopt this precious baby boy.  However, as the child of an African trafficked prostitute, who is most likely illegal, it is going to be really difficult.

With the help of a lawyer, the mother has given away her rights and custody to the child.  But, thus far we haven't been able to get him any type of official paperwork or identification.  He has a few minor health concerns.  Without the identification, physicians cannot treat him (even private), and, of course, he cannot be adopted.  There are all sorts of international laws that govern adoption- ironically to trying and stop human trafficking.

We have been able to find a lawyer who is pursuing legal refugee status for the child.  If he gains that status, he could legally be adopted in this country as a ward of the UN.  Otherwise, he will most likely have to (somehow) be returned to his mother's passport country in Africa to be placed in an orphanage.

Would you please pray for a miracle?  Pray for the lawyer to find the right information and be able to produce the correct papers.  Pray for a benevolent judge who would grant the baby refugee status and then allow him to be adoptable.  Finally, please pray for all the folks involved.  Pray for the sweet family, who already has three really small children, that are caring for the baby.  Pray for my friends' hearts to be strong and trust the Lord in all of this.  And, finally, please pray that this baby will be adopted by my friends.

We know that God has big plans for this precious baby.  His mother tried to abort him 5 different times with different types of abortion drugs.  After he was born, a man involved with the mother was going to try to sell the baby.  But, the sweet family caring for him pursued the mother and begged her not to do that.  He has only lived a short while, but his life has been spared by the Almighty God.  Now, we are begging Him to give this story a happy ending!
